First Bugatti Crash pictures

Below are pictures of the First Bugatti Veyron accident (that we know of anyway).

The 1001BHP car was reportedly doing 100mph in a 40mph zone when it crashed in heavy rain on Sunday 3rd March near Chertsey, Surrey.

Apparently the £830,000 ($1,600,000) Bugatti Veyron was bought only a week ago by a company who rent out high performance cars with the owner having paid a large premium for a quick delivery, reportedly £925,000!

The Bugatti was being driven by a man who had rented the car for £20,000 ($40,000) per day when lost control and hit a Vauxhall Astra that had a pregnant woman in. The car then went up a bank and into some trees, the pregnant woman underwent tests and was released from hospital.

It is still unsure if the car is repairable or going to be one of the most costliest car write-offs in history!

***Update***
The driver of thw Bugatti that crashed, Ajay Soni, was fined £400 for the accident and also given 9 points on his licence.

Classic Tradition and Modern Design

Head of Design Hartmut Warkuss and his team we
re faced with a Herculean task:

they were to design a car that combined its classic heritage and state-of-the-art modernism in a unique and unmatched way. A serial production vehicle
that continued a great tradition. A sports car worthy of the name Bugatti.

The designers created the Veyron 16.4, taking on a legend and mastering the challenge in one fell swoop: the final version of the serial production vehicle is almost identical to the first design draft. This indicates the high quality of the concept as well as the designer’s thoroughly responsible attitude and full intellectual grasp of the design objective. In order to transport the heritage of Ettore Bugatti to the present, the designers had to immerse themselves in the company’s history and to completely internalize the traditional brand values. That is the basis on which a feeling for the look and shape of the legendary brand can evolve.

The design sketch, however, is only the very first step. Turning a design into reality is by far the greater challenge. The challenge was taken, and the result is this automobile with its typical racecar mid-engine. A car that is made unique by its harmony, self-containment, and elegance. A car that exudes power, warmth, and charisma, taking an unchallenged position far beyond the mediocre. For the Veyron rises above any existing categories and classifications. It is not an Italian sports car, nor a British or French one. It is a Bugatti.

Bugatti Veyron: Top speed tested on Volkswagen's super secret test track

We found some information how the Bugatti Veyron was tested for top speed on Volkswagen's super secret test track in Ehra-Lessien. You can see the track in Google Earth!

"The BBC’s Top Gear program recently took the Bugatti Veyron for a quick test drive — a very quick test drive1. James May was asked to test the car’s top speed, and there was apparently only one place in the world it could be done — Volkswagen’s super-secret test facility in Germany, Ehra-Lessien. Why? Because Ehra-Lessien has an unbroken straight 9 kilometres in length, which you can see running along the top of our thumbnails. It’s so long, that if you stood on one side of the straight, you wouldn’t be able to see the other end due to the curvature of the Earth."

50 years down the road, a car manufacturer once again

In 1956, the final attempts had failed, in the wake of the death of the company’s founder in 1947 – preceded in death in 1939 by his son Jean, with whom he collaborated – to keep the substantially weakened company alive. After 47 years’ production, in the course of which 7,950 Bugattis of models 13 through 251 had been manufactured, the gates to the Bugatti factory in Molsheim were forced to close

Today, nearly 50 years later to the day, the production of Bugatti automobiles is resuming, making Molsheim once again the hub of the Bugatti world. As a centre for reminiscence, this picturesque, small city near Strasbourg has never lost its significance. The area’s “Enthusiasts Bugatti Alsace”, together with their friends in the various Bugatti clubs throughout the entire world, are in large measure responsible for keeping the brand alive over the decades – even in the absence of the product itself. This is an experience in which various other prestigious automobile brands with melodious names have not shared

It is in this fact that the strength of the Bugatti brand values is expressed most clearly. The admiration for “art on wheels”, the cool achievement of the aesthetic tenacity of Ettore Bugatti was a man who was first and foremost an artist, not a technician. The grandeur of the victories in the glorious years of dirt-encrusted heroes on the racecourses of this world and, not least, the suitability of these racing cars for everyday driving – the latter is what made Bugatti cars accessible to a broader clientele. The prestige of inspired design and the exclusiveness of individual models that helped catapult certain Bugatti models into the astronomical price classes

Top 10 Most Expensive Cars

What would you do if you won a 300 million dollar lottery? Expensive cars always seem to pop into mind when you let your fantasies run wild. With all that "found" money, you can afford to go a little crazy.

First thing to do is just make a list of the top ten most expensive cars on the market because you at least have to know what you're looking for right?

Here's a list to get you started.

1. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 - $1,700,000

The legendary Bugatti is even street-legal. Go ahead and take it through the drive-thru. It has a W16 engine-16 cylinders in 4 banks of 4 cylinders.

2. Ferrari Enzo - $1,000,000

If that's just a little steep, you can pick up the Ferrari 575 M Maranello for only $215,000. It has a suspension that will adjust the height of the car for a sport or comfort setting and reacts to potholes.

3. Saleen S7 - $560,000

Saleen is a sports car manufacturer based in California. This model has 750 hp, enough to get you where you want to go in record time. That is, unless you're driving in the famous California freeway traffic.

4. Porsche Carrera GT - $484,000

With a V10 engine and 612 hp, this baby can accelerate from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 206. This is one the most expensive cars made by Porsche. But if you want to go street-legal, wrap your hands around the Porsche GT2 for only $180,665.

5. Mercedes SLR McLaren - $455,500

That's the base price of this nifty little sports car. Go ahead and spring for the luxury surround sound system too. If you want more luxury features, try out the Mercedes-Benz CL 600 for $119,595. Sweet.

6. Maybach 62 - $385,250

What's a list of the top 10 most expensive cars without including the elusive Maybach? Only about a dozen of these are sold per month guaranteeing a super-luxury car you won't be seeing around every corner. With recliner rear seats, can you say chauffeur? Can you even spell it?

7. Bentley Azure Convertible Mulliner - $376,485

Queen Elizabeth is known for having Bentleys, but this is a driver's car. You'll want to be at the wheel yourself. It looks suspiciously like the Rolls Royce convertible, but you get more torque and horsepower out of this baby.

8. Rolls-Royce Phantom - $320,000

This is the first Rolls Royce made under the new management of BMW. If you'd like the convertible version of a Rolls, try to find a used (production has stopped) Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible - $363,990. They were all made to order, so good luck finding one.

9. Lamborghini Murcielago - $279,900

This car is awesome and instantly recognized. Take it for a spin on some lonely road in Montana and see what all the fuss is about. It's famous for it four-wheel drive - you won't have to slow down for corners.

10. Aston Martin Vanquish - $255,000

0 to 100 in ten seconds flat. Does anything else even matter in this James Bond car? It comes standard with a long list of features but unfortunately, the camouflage used by 007 isn't one of them. Believe it or not, this car is made by Ford, giving it the designation as the most expensive Ford out there.

Now that you have your list of top 10 most expensive cars, go have some fun shopping for one.

Veyron has arrived!
